Cornwall and The Counties Tourism to Support The Great Waterway Classic

Cornwall, ON (July 18, 2013) – The Great Waterway Classic, a PGA TOUR Canada event, is pleased to announce Cornwall and The Counties Tourism has partnered up to support the event.

Cornwall and The Counties Tourism, a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the region including the City of Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, will take ownership of the volunteer program of The Great Waterway Classic.  In addition, the tourism office will provide every player with a detailed tourism package, showcasing Cornwall and The Counties’ local attractions and restaurants.

“We are pleased to have Cornwall and The Counties Tourism on board with The Great Waterway Classic,” said Tournament Director Brad Parkins. “Volunteers are a major reason these types of events are a success, and having Cornwall and The Counties Tourism support this program will go a long way to the success of our event in The Great Waterway region.”

“Golf is a major economic driver in the tourism industry of Cornwall and the Counties, and it was important for us to be a part of The Great Waterway Classic,” said Linda Wilson, the Executive Director of Cornwall and the Counties Tourism. “This tournament will put eyes on our region and allow us to show off some of the assets that make Cornwall and the Counties a joy to visit.”
